When you go to London for the first time and for any reason, you’re advised to see its most popular attractions such as the Buckingham Palace, London Eye and Big Ben. While these are indeed fascinating, the crowd of tourists could turn you off.

If you like a more unique experience, head on to underrated tourist destinations in North London. There are many hotels in North West London, so accommodation shouldn’t be a problem. The only thing you have to plan now is your list of places you’ll visit. Below are some ideas for your itinerary.

Outdoor Swimming
For many tourists, swimming is the farthest thing on their minds when they go to London. However, locals and those from neighboring countries often flock the ponds in the city for some summertime swimming. If you want to try it out, you can visit Hampstead ponds before and after summer hits.

Climbing at a Climbing Center
Establishments like The Castle prove that London is not just for sightseeing. The Castle is a climbing center situated in an actual castle. It offers rope and rope-less climbing activities. You can choose to do it either outdoors or indoors. If you are touring with kids, you can take them in the center and enroll them in climbing classes.

Visiting a Century-Old Cinema
English castles, cathedrals and bridges are not the only places worth visiting if you are a history buff. In case you are also an avid movie-goer, you should add the Phoenix Cinema to the places you should visit. It’s among the oldest cinemas in the world, having opened in 1912. It still shows films and even offers workshops for kids.

Tour on Highgate’s West Cemetery
Highgate Cemetery is a fairly known tourist destination. Usually, though, the majority of tourists only visit the East Cemetery because that’s where Karl Marx’s tomb was located. For a less crowded tour, you should head on to the West Cemetery where tombs of some celebrated artists and intellectuals were situated. You can also find tombs of Charles Dickens’s relatives therein. Like its eastern counterpart, West Cemetery is full of interesting architecture.

An Escape to a Less Crowded Transport Museum
If you are into cars, the London Transport Museum will surely entice you. Just so you know, though, it’s not the only auto-related museum in the city. The northern borough Enfield is home to the Whitewebbs Museum of Transport. Therein, you can find replicas and pieces of memorabilia related to vehicles.

Party Places in North London
If you are searching for the coolest halls for hire in London for party to chow down on your big day then there are plenty of options out there. You just need to carefully select the venue to ensure they're right for your party needs.

When you go on a trip, unwinding is likely to be one of your reasons. Going in a crowded place, albeit popular, may not be worth a try. However, the abovementioned activities can help you relax and make wonderful memories at the same time.
